Jones Winery and Vineyard was established in 1860 and stands testament to a rich wine making tradition. Since 1927, the winery has been owned and operated by the Jones family. Entire blocks of old vine have been preserved making the winery one of only a few in Australia to produce wine from vines planted more than 100 years ago.
We consider ourselves very lucky to be able to work with vines that were planted over 100 years ago...
Today, Jones Winery and Vineyard is jointly operated by wine maker Mandy Jones, who brings 14 years of experience working in the Bordeaux region in France, and her brother Arthur Jones. Together they produce a small range of boutique wines.

Winery Walkabout 2013
What a weekend! Once again Rutherglen turned on the weather for the annual Winery Walkabout festival.
It was great to see a lot of 'veteran' Walkabout folk return to see us at Jones as well as some new faces of course. We really enjoy being able to have a chat to everyone and people seem to genuinely appreciate the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

Saturday 25th May saw a celebration of all things “Sausage” here at Jones Winery and Vineyard. Michael from Morrison St Butchers captivated the packed house with his sausage making skills and knowledge. Whilst Kate and Mandy ensured the participants enjoyed a feast of sausages and matched wines.

The 2013 Rutherglen Winery Walkabout is fast approaching and there are plenty of reasons to put Jones Winery and Vineyard on your "must visit" list this year. In addition to the fabulous wines to sample, we have put together some exciting menu options. And the circus is back in town as well!

We've snagged the maestro Michael Frederick from Morrison Street Continental Butchers to teach us the art of making sausages at home with very basic equipment. Our chef Kate Akrap will prepare a superb three course meal, featuring sausages of course. A glass of sparkling or soft drink will be offered on arrival and Mandy Jones will talk about the wines you will enjoy matched to Kate's dishes.
